When you hear us talking about our Leadership Team we are referring to our Pastoral staff members and the lay advisors to our pastor. In addition, others serve as Support Staff. Pastoral Staff

Doug & Vicki Kelchner have served together in pastoral ministry, since 1971 in a variety of church sizes and settings. Doug, a native of Virginia, met Vicki when he was a student in Missouri. They moved to Pennsylvania in 1984 and to Lancaster in 1993. They are the parents of two grown children and have four grandchildren. Doug is a graduate of Central Bible College and holds a Masters and Doctor of Ministry degree from Bethany Seminary.

Vicki serves full-time as New Hope’s Pastor of Children’s Ministry and Congregational Life. Besides his passion for the church Doug loves spending time with his two cocker spaniels, being with grandchildren, playing golf, and the beach.

Planting New Hope is their dream and as God enables, they are committed to New Hope for the remainder of their ministry. At the heart of their vision is a desire to do church differently and to make an investment in the future of the church.

Support Staff

Farid Widjaya
Director of Worship Ministry

Farid Widjaya was born on the island of Java, Indonesia. He came to the United States in 2000 to attend college in Pensacola, FL and moved to Lancaster after graduation. He was raised in a Christian home by parents who have served for many years in the music ministry of their home church. Farid and Winny celebrated their wedding in August of 2006. Farid enjoys a passion for worship music and is humbled by the opportunity to glorify God through this ministry.

Steven Zahm
Director of Visual Media

Steven Zahm was born in Frankfurt, Germany and has lived in Alaska and Michigan before moving to Lancaster, Pennsylvania as a young child. Having no church family background his dear friends, Donna Bartholomee and Chad and Bethany Nauman helped lead him to the Lord. Steven is estatic to combine his imagination and techincal skills to exalt the Lord.

Pastor’s Advisor’s

Tim & Lynell Shawaryn

Tim Shawaryn serves as an Advisor and currently fills the office of Church Treasurer. Tim is an Associate in the law firm of Gibble, Kraybill & Hess here in Lancaster County. He is married to Lynell who works as an Adoption Caseworker at COBYS Family Services. His favorite vacation spot is anywhere in the Caribbean. He is intense about sports, especially volleyball and football. Tim’s favorite movie is The Empire Strikes Back and he enjoys the TV programs, House and Lost. Pastor Doug conducted their wedding in December of 2001. Their greatest joy is the addition of a daughter, Megan in 2007.

Mike & Amy Kramer

Mike Kramer serves as an Advisor. Mike is a Supervisor for Shultz Transportation Company. His wife Amy has several jobs including travel consultant, bus driver and mobile home park manager. Mike and Amy have been an item since they were in the 10th grade. They have three children; Kyle, Logan & Bailey. Mike’s favorite vacation spot is the Cayman Islands. He enjoys all types of sports. Not a big fan of books, his favorite movie was Titanic and favorite television show was Friends.

Byron & Jodie Kelchner

Byron Kelchner serves as an Advisor. Byron is the Service Manager at Garden Spot Frame and Alignment in Ephrata, PA. Byron likes vacations to Disney World, the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, anything to do with Eagles football, and prefers to read magazines over books. Pastor Doug conducted their wedding in 1998. Byron and Jodie were blessed with twins, Isaac & Gracie, in 2007.

Becky & Craig Dietrich

Becky Dietrich serves as an advisor and currently fills the office of Church Secretary. She teaches 6th grade computer and math classes for the Manheim Township School District. She’s married to Craig who is a financial consultant for Blue Ball Bank. Becky and Craig were married in November of 2005 in Brownstown. Becky’s passion is children of all ages. Along with teaching, she also coaches a high school girl’s volleyball team with Craig where they spend most of their time during the fall. During her free time, Becky enjoys reading novels, especially those of a Christian author. Her favorite authors are Tim LaHaye and Joel Rosenberg. Becky’s favorite vacation spot is Pensacola Beach, Florida. Becky enjoys many types of movies, the majority of sports and anything that makes her laugh.
